At the rally the vice-chairman of the south Korean Confederation of Trade Unions, the permanent co-representative of the Solidarity for Progress and other speakers condemned the authorities for leaving no means untried to strike deals at the negotiations for the conclusion of the FTA with the U.S.

They charged that the authorities are working hard to leave the life and health of the people and the economic sovereignty and all other crucial matters to the tender mercy of their American master by opening the auto market and importing beef infected with mad cow disease, etc.

If the deals are struck at the negotiations, they will not only lead to deteriorating the people's livelihood but hand only poverty to posterity, they deplored.

They called upon the people of various circles to boost the solidarity and unity for foiling the moves to conclude the humiliating FTA without fail.
