Stop to Suppression of Trade Unions Demanded in S. Korea
Pyongyang, November 16 (KCNA) -- Members of international labor movement organizations and trade union organizations in south Korea jointly called a press conference in Seoul on Nov. 11, denouncing the puppet group for suppression of trade unions.

Speakers at the conference accused the present "government" of south Korea of indiscriminately suppressing the internationally recognized activities of trade unions and desperately preventing part-time workers from joining trade unions and concluding a collective contract, in collusion with enterprise owners.

They urged the "government" to stop at once its infringement upon the rights of the workers and the right to labor movement.

The trade unions all over the world positively support the south Korean labor movement organizations in their struggle for an end to violence and suppression, they noted.

They demanded that the "government" remove the legal obstacles lying in the way of ensuring the basic right to labor, release the detained union activists and stop the discrimination against the part-time workers.

Meanwhile, members of international labor movement organizations in different countries held rallies and conducted information service denouncing the south Korean "government" for its crackdown upon trade unions.
