Message of Condolences from China

| Pyongyang, November 9 (KCNA) -- A message of condolences came to the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and the National Defence Commission of the DPRK from the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Central Military Commission of the People's Republic of China on Nov. 8 over the death of Jo Myong Rok, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and first vice-chairman of the NDC of the DPRK. The message says: Upon hearing the news that Vice Marshal of the Korean People's Army Comrade Jo Myong Rok, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the C.C., the WPK and first vice-chairman of the NDC of the DPRK, died of illness to our regret, we express profound condolences to the WPK, the Korean people and the KPA as well as sincere consolation to the bereaved family. Comrade Jo Myong Rok devoted his all to the freedom and independence of Korea and socialist cause to perform immortal feats and made precious contributions to the consolidation and development of the Sino-DPRK friendly and cooperative relations. The death of Comrade Jo Myong Rok is a loss of an old friend for the Chinese people. We will remember him forever. |
