Accusing Hyon of working hard to weaken the function of the human rights activities by railroading some amendments to the rules for steering the committee, the organizations recalled that all the permanent members of the Human Rights Committee resigned in protest against his arbitrary behavior.

They lashed out at Hyon for objecting to the probe into the prosecution's investigation into the producers of "PD pocketbooks" of MBC and the clarification of the authorities' illegal investigation into civilians, etc., adding that he concluded in a brigandish manner a meeting on presenting opinions to the court bench as regards the Ryongsan tragedy, blustering that "there was no other option but to do so though he was branded as a dictator" despite the fact that the majority of the members of the committee consented to the proposal.

His reckless words and deeds clearly prove that Hyon is no more than a lackey reading the face of the "government" in utter disregard of human rights, they stressed, calling for the immediate ouster of him from his office.
