Illegal Acts of U.S. Forces in S. Korea Denounced
Pyongyang, November 9 (KCNA) -- The People for Achieving Peace and Reunification and the Kunsan People for Achieving Peace and Reunification of south Korea issued a statement on Nov. 3 blasting the illegal acts of the U.S. forces against civilians in south Korea.

The statement recalled that the U.S. forces in Kunsan, North Jolla Province, have watched a south Korean electrical engineer who has worked in their base for 17 years and suppressed him on charges of "leakage of military secrets", "espionage," etc.

The special investigation team of the U.S. forces walked him off on the groundless charge that he provided military secrets to the People for Achieving Peace and Reunification for the mere reason that he visited the church run by its representative and forcibly searched his house, the statement noted, and continued: When the U.S. forces side found no clues to his wrong doings, it finally fired him in last October.

Accusing the U.S. forces of having regularly watched not only civic and public organizations but also civilians and the church, the statement said this illegal acts were prompted by the intention to crack down upon the organization raising the issue of the U.S. military base.

The U.S. forces have no legal ground to watch and investigate civilians, organizations and the church, it held, and went on:

We can never allow the illegal acts of the U.S. forces and their presence in south Korea as they control and oppress civilians.

The statement demanded the authorities of the U.S. forces apologize to the people for their crimes and punish those involved in them.

If they turn down this demand, we will react to it with strong protest, it warned.
