Struggle against Repression Called for in S. Korea
Pyongyang, November 8 (KCNA) -- The Students Committee of the Youth and Students Solidarity for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration in south Korea on November 3 made public an appeal calling upon all the democratic forces to turn out in the struggle against the puppet authorities' suppression.

Noting that the present "government" enacted a special law on mobilizing the police and the armed forces to mercilessly quell rallies and demonstrations of people under the pretext of an international meeting, the appeal branded it as a declaration of martial law on the people.

Nowadays the authorities are conducting illegal inspection on civilians, detention of members of progressive organizations and searches everyday and those committing suicides in protest against the suppression are increasing in number, it pointed out.

It charged that the authorities are seeking renegotiations for conclusion of the humiliating "Free Trade Agreement" with the United States, regardless of the people's livelihood.

Due to the dictatorial rule of the authorities the democratization of society has been mercilessly violated and the sufferings of the people are growing severer, the appeal said, adding that the "government's" unpopular behavior can not be allowed any longer.

It stressed that all the people should turn out in the struggle against the authorities' suppression so as to realize the democratization of society and achieve the right to existence.
