Pyongyang, November 3 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Il, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army, gave field guidance to the construction site of the Huichon Power Station making a leap forward.

After acquainting himself with the progress made in the construction of the power station, he visited the surge tank construction site of KPA Guard Unit 210.

He looked round the completed surge tank, a generator room and an iron pipe construction site to learn in detail about the progress made in the project.

Watching completed large tunnel passages stretching far deep underground and giant structures of eternal value, he expressed great satisfaction over lots of work done by soldier-builders in a brief span of time and highly appreciated their labor success.

It is pity that posterity would not be able to see these praiseworthy structures built by the soldier-builders at the cost of blood and sweat when the power station goes operational, he noted, adding that the feats the servicepersons performed by devotedly working for the prosperity of the country would be always remembered by the country and its people.

Noting that inexhaustible is the mental power of the servicepersons of the People's Army, the fighters who are ready to flatten even a high mountain at one go if required by the party, he stressed that no force on earth can match this tremendous strength of the army single-mindedly united around it.

Guard Unit 210 which performed distinguished feats in socialist construction in the past is creditably playing the role of vanguard and shock brigade in the construction of the power station, an outpost for building a thriving nation, he emphasized the shining feats the servicepersons of the unit performed by dedicating themselves to the prosperity of the country and the happiness of the generations to come would always remain shining along with the history of the building of a thriving nation.

He commanded a bird's-eye view of construction site from an observation deck.

There is a bright prospect of completing the construction of the large-size Huichon Power Station before 2012 thanks to the devoted efforts of the constructors of the station including the soldier-builders who created the Huichon speed, a new Chollima speed, he said, extending a warm salute to all the builders who have waged an eye-catching drive by fully displaying the revolutionary soldier spirit and the revolutionary spirit of fortitude.

Looking at the literary and art works created by soldier-builders in the sites alive with a high pitched labor drive, he heard a lot of beautiful stories about servicepersons engaged in the construction.

He advanced important tasks that would serve as guidelines for finishing the construction of the station ahead of schedule.

Noting that supply service is one of the main factors of boosting the speed of construction, he underscored the need to take deep care of the builders' living so that they might not feel any slightest inconvenience in it.
