Atmosphere of DPRK-China Friendship Pervades Pyongyang
Pyongyang, October 23 (KCNA) -- An atmosphere of the DPRK-China friendship is going high in Pyongyang with the approach of the 60th anniversary of the Chinese People's Volunteers' entry in the Korean war.

Rodong Sinmun, Minju Joson and other major newspapers of the country have introduced heroic services rendered by the volunteers dispatched by the Chinese Party and Government to the Korean war (June 1950-July 1953) under the banner of resisting America and aiding Korea, safeguarding the home and defending the motherland.

They have also carried literary works and articles such as an epic titled "The 800-km-long Amnok River" and an article "DPRK-China Friendship Seen through Art Exchange".

The Korean Central TV has telecasted documentary films on General Secretary Kim Jong Il's visits to China, as well as a Chinese TV drama and performances of Chinese artistes.

The newly created opera "Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai" based on a Chinese folk legend has been performed at the Pyongyang Grand Theatre from October 22.

A photo exhibition and a week of Chinese film show are also going on in the city to mark the anniversary.

Meanwhile, the Art Troupe of the Chinese People's Liberation Army has given performances in Pyongyang to sing of the friendship between the two countries.
