Song Based on Chinese People's Obligation
Pyongyang, October 23 (KCNA) -- The River Amnok of Korea is associated with the indestructible friendship between the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and China.

The Chinese People's Volunteers crossed the river along with "Song of Chinese People's Volunteers" to join the Korean people in the Korean war (June 1950-July 1953) against the imperialists.

The song, created in 1950, reflects the volunteers' revolutionary will and internationalist duty to fight valiantly against the U.S. aggressors. Its melody is stirring and vigorous.

The song sings of their high spirit and confidence in victory in the first part and their pride of taking up a sacred mission of resisting America and aiding Korea, safeguarding the home and defending the motherland in the last part, climaxed with "let's defeat the U.S. imperialists".

The Korean Cinema Musical Company, in its performance in China last year marking the 60th anniversary of the People's Republic of China and the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the DPRK and China, put on the stage the song to be acclaimed by the audience.

The heroic services of the volunteers will remain long in the memory of the Korean people along with the song.
