Location Streets in Pyongyang
Pyongyang, October 22 (KCNA) -- There are mock-up location streets covering more than 700,000 square meters in a suburb of Pyongyang.

Seen in the area are Korean streets reflecting different ages ranging from the period of Koryo (918-1392) to the period before the liberation of the country (August 15, 1945), Chinese streets and Japanese streets in the 1920s and 1930s, south Korean streets in the 1980s and other streets.

Standing in the streets are dwelling houses and temporary buildings.

Each building has four facades of different shapes to make it possible to get diverse scenes from one building.

The buildings and their signboards show features of different ages.

Houses with straw-thatched roof and earthen walls, millstone, water mill and well are also seen there.

A railway station in the 1930s was designed to really operate freight and passenger trains.

Over the past three decades the location streets have been used in producing many movies, including "Star of Korea", "Red Wings", "Rim Kkok Jong", "Appeal of Kwangju", "Pyongyang Nalpharam", "The Nation and Destiny" (Workers), "Song of East Sea" and "The Country I Saw".
