Chinese Film Week Opens to Mark Entry of CPV into Korean Front
Pyongyang, October 21 (KCNA) -- The Chinese film week was opened with due ceremony at Taedongmun Cinema on Thursday to mark the 60th anniversary of the entry of the Chinese People's Volunteers into the Korean front.

Present there were Hong Kwang Sun, chairman of the State Film Commission, officials concerned, creators and artistes in the field of film, Liu Hongcai, Chinese ambassador to the DPRK, and staff members of his embassy and Chinese staying here.

Speeches were made at the opening ceremony.

Hong referred to the fact that fighters of the CPV under the banner of the resisting America and aiding Korea, safeguarding the home and defending the motherland and displayed the spirit of internationalism in the battles against the enemy common to the DPRK and China, adding that the traditional DPRK-China friendship relations provided by President Kim Il Sung together with the revolutionaries of the elder generation of China have been consolidated and developed under the deep care of the top leaders of the two countries.

Hong expressed belief that the creators and artistes in the field of film of the two countries would conduct positive exchanges to make contribution to developing the DPRK-China friendship.

Liu Hongcai recalled that 60 years ago the excellent sons and daughters of China and volunteered to the Korean front and waged bloody battles together with the Korean people.

He said that they would strengthen cooperation in different fields including the film art to further boost the China-DPRK friendship together with comrades of the DPRK.

The participants watched the Chinese feature film "Shangganling".
