Korean Book, Photo and Handicraft Exhibitions Held
Pyongyang, October 21 (KCNA) -- DPRK book, photo and handcraft exhibitions were held in Russia, Peru and Uganda from October 7 to 17 on the occasion of the 65th birthday of the Workers' Party of Korea, the 84th anniversary of the formation of the Down-with-Imperialism Union and the 30th anniversary of the proposal for founding the Democratic Federal Republic of Koryo.

On display in their venues were works of President Kim Il Sung and General Secretary Kim Jong Il, photos on their exploits and books and photos introducing the history of the WPK and Songun Korea and handcrafts associated with the wisdom and talents of the Korean people.

Speeches were made at the opening ceremonies.

The director of the Bureau for Culture of the Murom City Administration of Vladimir Region of Russia said that there are now many parties in the world, but none of them is confidently advancing along the road of victory united close around its leader as the WPK. He hoped that the Korean people would achieve greater successes in socialist construction true to the idea and leadership of Kim Jong Il in the future, too.

A district governor in Lima City of Peru said that he was very pleased to host a DPRK book, photo and handicraft exhibition, hoping that the exhibition would offer an opportunity to make the ties between the peoples of the two countries closer.
