Wreaths Laid before Grave of Ri Po Ik
Pyongyang, October 18 (KCNA) -- Wreaths were placed before the grave of Ri Po Ik, ardent patriot, in Mangyongdae on Monday on the occasion of the 51st anniversary of her demise.

Seen standing before the grave was a wreath sent by Kim Jong Il, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army.

Present at the wreath-laying ceremony were Kim Ki Nam, Yang Hyong Sop, Ju Sang Song, Hong Sok Hyong and Ri Thae Nam and officials of party, armed forces and power organs and ministries and national institutions and officials and working people in Pyongyang.

Wreaths were placed before the grave in the name of the Central Committee of the WPK, ministries and national institutions and the revolutionary school, party and power organs, farms, etc. here.

The participants in the ceremony observed a moment's silence in memory of Ri who encouraged her family members in the struggle to liberate the country in the period of national sufferings and devoted her all to the sacred cause for the country and its people.
