Terrapin-multiplying Technology Developed
Pyongyang, October 14 (KCNA) -- The Zoology Research Institute under the State Academy of Sciences has developed a new technology for multiplying terrapin.

Generally, terrapin lays some 30 eggs in the sand at a time, but the hatching rate is only 37 percent in the natural condition.

After making an analysis of terrapin's biological features and breeding method, researchers of the institute have developed a new hatching method without using sand and put the control of temperature and humidity and other technical indices on a scientific basis.

The new technology makes it possible to select unfertilized or abortive eggs in time and raise the actual hatching rate considerably.

The simple but highly effective technology enjoyed popularity at the 11th National Exhibition of Inventions and New Technologies held some time ago.
