Memorial Tower Telling Feats of WPK
Pyongyang, October 12 (KCNA) -- A large number of people, including servicepersons and schoolchildren, have visited the Party Founding Memorial Tower in Pyongyang to mark the 65th anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea (October 10).

The visitors pay homage to President Kim Il Sung, who founded a new-typed revolutionary party reflecting the demand of the Juche era and the desire of the popular masses and led it successfully.

They also learn about the immortal feats General Secretary Kim Jong Il performed in developing the WPK into the party of President Kim Il Sung and vow to remain faithful to his leadership in the building of a thriving nation.

Kim Chol Bong, a 24-year-old officer of the Korean People's Army, told KCNA that the tower showed the historic roots and glorious revolutionary traditions of the WPK had been provided in the flames of the arduous anti-Japanese revolution. He also said he would fulfill his duty in defending the cause of the great party with arms.

In an interview with KCNA, Ri Kum Hyok, a 32-year-old worker of the Kim Jong Thae Electric Locomotive Complex, voiced his belief that victory and glory would always be in store for the WPK, led by Kim Jong Il, and confirmed his determination to work hard for the building of a thriving nation.

Since the tower was erected in October Juche 84 (1995), it has been visited by more than 4 688 000 people.

Among them are some 200,000 foreigners.

Looking around the tower, they spoke highly of the WPK for its immortal feats for socialism and the independence of humankind.
