Wreaths Laid before Statues, Monuments, Cemeteries and Graves of Martyrs
Pyongyang, October 10 (KCNA) -- Wreaths were laid before statues of martyrs, monuments of fallen fighters of the Korean People's Army and cemeteries and graves of martyrs in different parts of the country Sunday on the occasion of the 65th birthday of the Workers' Party of Korea.

Present at the wreath-laying ceremonies were officials of the local party and power organs and working people's organizations, working people and school youth and children.

Wreaths in the name of local party and power organs, working people's organizations, factories, enterprises, farms, schools and others were placed in front of the Hyesan Revolutionary Martyrs' Cemetery, statues of martyrs, monuments of fallen fighters of the Korean People's Army and cemeteries and graves of martyrs in different parts of the country.

Participants paid silent tribute to the martyrs who remained boundlessly loyal to the ideas and leadership of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il and made their lives worthwhile through the sacred struggles for protecting the sovereignty and independence of the country, the freedom and happiness of the people, the cause of building a Juche-oriented party, the prosperity of the country and national reunification.
