Wreaths Laid on Martyrs Cemetery
Pyongyang, October 9 (KCNA) -- Wreaths were laid on the Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery on Mt. Taesong and the Patriotic Martyrs Cemetery and floral baskets placed before the Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Memorial Tower on Saturday on the occasion of the 65th birthday of the Workers' Party of Korea.

Seen on the wreath-laying stands of the cemeteries were wreaths sent by Kim Jong Il, general secretary of the WPK, chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army.

Present at the ceremonies were senior officials of the party, the army and the state, the chairperson of a friendly party, officials of party, armed forces and power organs, working people's organizations, ministries and national institutions, service persons of the Korean People's Army and the Korean People's Internal Security Forces and working people in the city.

Wreaths in the name of the Central Committee of the WPK, the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly and the Cabinet were laid on the wreath-laying stands of the cemeteries and a floral basket in the joint name of the C.C., the WPK and the Central Military Commission of the WPK was placed before the main sculpture Victory of the tower.

Also laid on the cemeteries and the memorial tower were wreaths, floral baskets and bunches of flowers in the name of the Ministry of the People's Armed forces, the Ministry of People's Security, working people's organizations, ministries and national institutions, KPA units and those of the Korean People's Internal Security Forces and scientific, educational, cultural and art and public health and media institutions, party and power organs, industrial establishments and farms in the city.

The participants paid silent tribute to martyrs and paid high tribute to the servicepersons of the KPA.

The participants laid bouquets and flowers before the bust of Kim Jong Suk, anti-Japanese heroine, in the Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery on Mt. Taesong.
