Implementation of Declarations Called for in S. Korea

Pyongyang, October 8 (KCNA) -- The Solidarity for Democracy, People's Life, Peaceful Reunification and Sovereignty of south Korea in a statement on October 4 called upon all the people desirous of reunification to pool their efforts to preserve and implement the inter-Korean joint declarations and thus pave the way for peace, prosperity and reunification of the nation.

The October 4 declaration reflects the will of the whole nation to preserve and positively implement the June 15 joint declaration and definitely convert the inter-Korean relations into those of mutual respect and trust and clarifies the tasks for achieving reunification and specific ways to do so, the statement said.

But the inter-Korean relations have collapsed due to the anti-reunification policy of the Lee Myung Bak "government", it noted, adding that to implement the joint declarations is the only way of developing the inter-Korean relations and achieving the peace and prosperity of the nation.

It demanded the Lee Myung Bak "government" stop at once its war maneuvers screwing up the tensions between the south and the north and moves to escalate the confrontation with the DPRK and opt for implementing the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration.
