Kim Il Sung's 100th Birthday Int'l Committee Formed
Pyongyang, October 7 (KCNA) -- An international preparatory committee for commemorating the centenary of birth of President Kim Il Sung was formed with due ceremony in the Danish capital of Copenhagen on Oct. 2.

On display at the venue of the ceremony were works of the President and General Secretary Kim Jong Il, photos on their undying exploits and other photos introducing successes made by the Korean people in the drive to build a thriving nation.

Present there were the Nordic preparatory committee for commemorating the centenary of birth of Kim Il Sung, Asian-Pacific regional committee, American regional committee and preparatory committees of Russia, France, Switzerland, Pakistan, Nigeria and Egypt, figures of the International Liaison Committee for Reunification and Peace in Korea, representatives of political parties and organizations of Denmark and the friendship delegation of the Korean Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries.

The participants laid a floral basket before portraits of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il before paying homage to them.

At the ceremony a congratulatory letter of the Nepalese prime minister was read out to be followed by speeches.

Speakers said that the inauguration of the preparatory committees for splendidly commemorating the centenary of birth of Kim Il Sung in various countries and regions of the world is a manifestation of the humble reverence for him.

They stressed that the international preparatory committee would conduct positive activities and thus make great contribution to significantly commemorating the birth anniversary of Kim Il Sung as a world-wide grand political festival.

The ceremony elected Nepalese Prime Minister Madav Kumar Nepal as honorary chairman of the international preparatory committee.

Co-chairmanship of the committee went to Yang Hyong Sop, vice-president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, Raja Labani, deputy secretary general of the Pakistan People's Party, Vladimir Tolstikov, chairman of the Russian Association for Friendship and Cultural Cooperation with the DPRK, Andre Aubry, delegate president of the France-Korea Friendship Association, Emilia Fernandes, member of the House of Representatives of the National Congress of Brazil, Ibrahim Mantu, former deputy president of the Senate of the National Assembly of Nigeria, Youssef Amin Wali, vice-chairman of the National Democratic Party of Egypt, and Guy Dupre, secretary general of the International Liaison Committee for Reunification and Peace in Korea.

A letter to Kim Jong Il was adopted and the Copenhagen declaration made public at the ceremony.

The declaration praised Kim Il Sung as the greatest man who made undying contributions to global independence.

The preparatory committees would hold one colorful political and cultural event after another meant to give wide publicity to the history and exploits of the President world-wide and organize international joint celebrations with splendor for commemorating the hundred year history of Kim Il Sung's Korea in the DPRK in April 2012, it said.

By doing so they will convey down through generations the personality of Kim Il Sung as a great man and his immortal exploits.

They will expand the solidarity activities supporting the just cause of the Korean people world-wide, the declaration concluded.
