DFRK Founding Proposal Favoured by Koreans
Pyongyang, October 7 (KCNA) -- Thirty years has lapsed since President Kim Il Sung advanced a proposal for founding the Democratic Federal Republic of Koryo (DFRK) at the Sixth Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea in October Juche 69 (1980).

The proposal calls for founding a federal state involving the north and south with the two sides keeping their own ideologies and systems intact.

Since then, the Korean people have advanced with the implementation of the proposal as the goal in their effort for the country's reunification.

The drive has become a nationwide movement embracing all Koreans in the north, south and overseas, irrespective of difference in ideology, idea, political view, ism and religious belief.

The Pan-national Alliance for Korea's Reunification was formed and the DFRK founding proposal has been accepted by Koreans as a reunification formula common to the nation.

The Korean people's efforts to materialize the proposal have continued on a higher level under the wise leadership of Kim Jong Il.

After formulating the Three Principles of National Reunification, the 10-point Programme of the Great Unity of the Whole Nation and the afore-said proposal as the Three Charters for National Reunification, he has energetically led the efforts for their implementation. In particular, he had the historic June 15 Joint Declaration and the October 4 Declaration, a programme for its materialization, adopted between the two parts of Korea to open up a new era of an independent reunification.

As a result, unprecedented achievements have been scored in developing the inter-Korean relations and pro-reunification movement and all Koreans have turned out in the efforts for national unity and independent reunification under the banner of "By our nation itself".
