Speeches were made by Kim Yong Dae, chairman of the Central Committee of the Korean Social Democratic Party, Kim Wan Su, director of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Democratic Front for the Reunification of Korea, An Kyong Ho, director of the Secretariat of the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of Korea, and others.

The speakers noted that the proposal for founding the DFRK clarified by Kim Il Sung at the 6th Congress of the WPK is the most just and original one of great significance as it brought about a landmark phase in the efforts for independent reunification.

They referred to the fact that the proposal correctly reflects the nature of the issue of Korea's reunification and its specific realities.

It was a noteworthy event in the history of national reunification that General Secretary Kim Jong Il provided a new landmark for achieving it by federal formula in the June 15 joint declaration, they noted, adding that this was because the joint declaration not only made it clear that it serves as a common groundwork acceptable to the north and the south in the way of realizing the proposal for achieving reunification by federal formula and both sides are heading for reunification by federal formula but made a scientific clarification of the co-relations between the north and the south and their mode of existence.

It is a fundamental guarantee for the founding of the DFRK to achieve national unity, they stressed.

They called upon all the fellow countrymen in the north and the south and overseas to wage a vigorous struggle to successfully carry out the instructions of Kim Il Sung and thus achieve national reunification, cherished desire of the nation, as soon as possible true to the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration.
