National Photo Exhibition Opens
Pyongyang, October 2 (KCNA) -- A national photo exhibition opened with due ceremony at the People's Palace of Culture on Saturday to celebrate the 65th founding anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea.

On display at the exhibition are more than 340 photos including those dealing with the immortal exploits President Kim Il Sung and General Secretary Kim Jong Il performed by founding the WPK and working heart and soul to develop it.

Among them are the photo titled "The great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung forming the Down-with-Imperialism Union" and other photos on the noble traits of the President who advanced the policy of building an independent party in the early period of the Korean revolution and successfully accomplished the cause of founding a revolutionary party after the liberation.

Also displayed there are photos dealing with the leadership exploits of Kim Jong Il who has led the WPK and the revolution to one victory after another, ushering in a great heyday in the efforts to accomplish the revolutionary cause of Juche.

Among them are photos showing the platform of the Conference of the WPK and a rally held by servicepersons of the three services of the Korean People's Army and the Pyongyang city rally congratulating Kim Jong Il on his reelection as general secretary of the WPK. They reflect the great excitement and pride of the army and people having Kim Jong Il at the top posts of the party and the revolution and their unshakable faith and will to build a thriving nation and accomplish the revolutionary cause of Juche true to the Songun leadership of the party.

Also on display there are photos dealing with the exploits the peerlessly great persons performed in the efforts to achieve national reunification and the human cause of independence.

Present at the opening ceremony of the exhibition were Secretary of the WPK Central Committee Kim Ki Nam, vice-President of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly Yang Hyong Sop, officials concerned and working people in the city.

Minister of Culture An Tong Chun made an opening speech.
