Release of Rev. Han Sang Ryol Demanded
Pyongyang, October 2 (KCNA) -- The Solidarity for Progress, the Association for Defending the June 15 Joint Declaration, Peace and Rev. Han Sang Ryol and the Christian Measure Committee for Reverend Han Sang Ryol's Visit to the North for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration in south Korea at a press conference on Sept. 27 accused the puppet authorities of suppressing the reunification champion.

In a press release the organizations said that Han visited the north guided by religious faith as the Lee Myung Bak regime disallowed the joint events of the nation to mark the 10th anniversary of the June 15 joint declaration and groundlessly linked the warship case to the north, pushing the inter-Korean relations to the brink of war.

Han's statements with which the prosecution took issue had nothing to do with a political objective as they were aimed at inter-Korean reconciliation and cooperation, they held.

They branded the regime's suppression of Han's activities for peace and reunification on the charge of violation of the "National Security Law" as an act of standing in the way of reunification.

They urged the authorities to immediately stop the suppression of Han, release him without delay and abolish the NSL, a fascist law.
