The statement noted that the WPK founded by President Kim Il Sung has performed great feats in the revolution and construction while leading the Korean people's struggle as the general staff of the revolution.

The 65 year-long history of the WPK is the glorious history in which it has turned the DPRK into a socialist power and led the human cause of independence to shining victory, it said, and went on:

General Secretary Kim Jong Il has led the WPK to creditably discharge its mission and role as the guiding force of the Songun cause, holding fast to the Juche idea as the eternal guiding idea.

Wishing the WPK led by Kim Jong Il greater victory, we reaffirm that we will invariably support the just cause of the WPK and the Korean people.
