Inspection of State Called for Probe into "Cheonan"
Pyongyang, September 21 (KCNA) -- The "joint action for a probe into the truth about Cheonan case and peace on the Korean Peninsula" grouping more than 40 civic and public organizations including the Solidarity for Progress, the South Headquarters of the Pan-national Alliance for Korea's Reunification and the "People for Achieving Peace and Reunification" of south Korea issued a written protest on Sept. 16 demanding the inspection of state administration for a probe into the truth behind the warship case.

The written protest pointed out that the final report on the case opened to the public by the Ministry of Defense failed to convince the people and, on the contrary, it added to the doubts and questions about the case.

Majority of people are waging a ceaseless signature campaign in demand of a correct probe into the case, it noted.

The protest held that the "National Assembly" had better immediately come out for inspection of state administration for clarifying the case, though belatedly.

That day representatives of the organizations submitted the protest to the speaker of the puppet National Assembly.

Meanwhile, Sin Sang Chol who was a member of the former joint investigation team, laid bare the hypocritical nature of the final report released by the puppet Ministry of Defense on the warship case. He claimed it was illogical for the Ministry of Defense to talk about what it called signs and evidence and the like after keeping all necessary information in top secrecy, not allowing any contact with survivors.

He held it is necessary to open to the public what happened at that time and all information about it and let the witnesses to speak freely if the cause of the case is to be correctly investigated. Refusing to do so would provide evidence proving the fabrication, distortion and cover-up, he added.
