Kumranjigyejon, Poetical Work Eulogizing Kim Il Sung
Pyongyang, September 17 (KCNA) -- Many literary works praising President Kim Il Sung as lodestar of national liberation and the sun of the nation were created during the anti-Japanese armed struggle.

Among them is Kumranjigyejon the President mentioned in his reminiscences "With the Century" (vol. 6).

The name of association, "Kumran", means that a united mind is as sharp as an iron edge and as fragrant as an orchid. In other words, it indicates deep feelings between friends, construed as an association of close friends.

Before the liberation of the country, Pukchong people, strong in anti-Japanese sentiments, formed the Kumran Association.

Kumranjigyejon means writings containing the will of the association members.

The members of the association frequently met in a thick pine grove in Chonghung-ri, Pukchong County, and cultivated themselves morally while pretending to enjoy composition to hoodwink the Japanese police. In this course the oldest member, respected for his wide knowledge, composed Kumranjigyejon.

He was the chairman of the Pukchong Branch of the Association for the Restoration of the Fatherland.

He had a chance to meet with anti-Japanese heroine Kim Jong Suk in summer of Juche 26 (1937) and was informed of the idea of "The Ten-point Programme of the Association for the Restoration of the Fatherland" worked out by the President and his policy of an all-people resistance. Under her guidance, he expanded and strengthened the branch.

His poem, Kumranjigyejon, lauds the President as "the one and only leader", "justice of the nation" and "the sun".

It has been conveyed until now, quoted by books on the revolutionary history of the President and the history of the Workers' Party of Korea and found in Korean Encyclopedia.
