Birthday of DPRK Celebrated
Pyongyang, September 17 (KCNA) -- Meetings, seminars, lectures, photo exhibitions and film shows were held in Laos, Mongolia, Nepal, Ethiopia and Iran between Sept. 3 and 7 on the occasion of the 62nd anniversary of the DPRK.

On display in the exhibition halls were photos on the exploits of President Kim Il Sung and General Secretary Kim Jong Il performed in founding and developing the DPRK and photos showing the glorious course covered by the DPRK.

Appreciated at the film shows were Korean films "The Country Shining with Arms of Mt. Paektu", "Pyongyang at Night", "Fireworks for a Thriving Nation" and "Reply of Korea".

Tong Yeu Tho, chairman of the Laos-Korea Friendship Association, said at a meeting that under the wise leadership of Kim Il Sung the Korean people defeated the U.S. imperialists in the hard-fought Fatherland Liberation War and built a socialist system in the northern half of Korea.

D. Narantuya, chief of the Group for the Study of the Juche Idea of Literary College of Mongolia, noted at a meeting that the Korean people have made signal achievements in the dynamic drive to open the gate to a thriving nation in 2012. And the speaker expressed belief that the Korean people would surely hit the target of building a thriving nation.

Nigatu Dagnachew, chairman of the Ethiopian Youth Study Group of the Juche Idea, stressed at a seminar that Kim Jong Il turned the DPRK into a socialist power by inheriting the cause of Kim Il Sung.

A message of greetings to Kim Jong Il was adopted at the seminar in Nepal.
