Present there were Choe Thae Bok, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Kim Jong Suk, chairwoman of the Korean Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries who doubles as chairperson of the organizing committee of the fair, and others.

Also present were delegations and delegates of various countries and international organizations and a delegation of overseas compatriots and staff members of foreign embassies here.

Certificates were awarded to organizations that presented books and materials to the fair and souvenirs handed to them.

A letter to General Secretary Kim Jong Il from the participants in the fair was adopted at the closing ceremony.

Kim Jong Suk made a closing address.

During the exhibition, the delegations and delegates exchanged successes and experience gained in the fields of science, technology and media and discussed to conduct brisk exchange of publications among countries.
