The concert began with the playing of the national anthem. Put on the stage were male chorus "Please Receive Our Salute", male vocal solo and male chorus "O. My Korea", male chorus "Do Prosper, Era of the Workers' Party", male duet and male chorus "It's Really Good Society" and "We Began from Scratch ", male choruses "Push back Frontiers of Latest Science", "Road of Victory" and "Appearance of Korea" and other colorful numbers.

Through their revolutionary and militant performance the performers sang with high pride of the shining path of victory and glory covered under the banner of the DPRK, a powerful weapon for socialist construction and a cradle of the Korean people's happiness, and truthfully represented the firm faith and will, militant spirit and will of the army and people to devotedly defend the headquarters of the Korean revolution under the uplifted banner of the red flag of the revolution despite all sorts of trials and hardships and accomplish the revolutionary cause of Juche generation after generation under the leadership of the Party.

Kim Jong Il extended thanks to the artistes of the State Merited Chorus, expressing great satisfaction over the fact that they presented a splendid concert replete with the spirit of the DPRK, the revolutionary spirit of Mt. Paektu.

Noting that the chorus, a prestigious and dynamic art group, is a pride of the Korean people and precious asset of the country, he expressed expectation and conviction that the creators and artistes of the chorus would conduct more dynamic militant art creative activities to powerfully encourage the army and people in the sacred struggle for accomplishing the cause of building a great prosperous and powerful socialist nation.

Among the audience were Jang Song Thaek, vice-chairman of the NDC of the DPRK and department director of the WPK Central Committee, Department Directors Kim Kyong Hui and Thae Jong Su and other leading officials of the WPK Central Committee, KPA Generals Kim Myong Guk, Kim Won Hong and Hyon Chol Hae and commanding officers of the army and armed forces organs.
