Present there were Kim Yong Nam and other senior party, army and state officials, the chairpersons of friendly parties, deputies to the Supreme People's Assembly, officials of party, armed forces and power organs, social organizations, ministries and national institutions, servicepersons of the Korean People's Army and the Korean People's Internal Security Forces, officials in the fields of science, education, culture and art, public health and media, bereaved families of revolutionary martyrs, labor innovators, working people in the city of Pyongyang, congratulatory groups, delegations and visiting groups of overseas compatriots and the chief of the Pyongyang Mission of the Anti-Imperialist National Democratic Front.

Diplomatic envoys of various countries, members of military attaches corps and representatives of international organizations here and delegations of different countries here were present there on invitation.

Premier Choe Yong Rim, alternate member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, in a report at the meeting, said that the founding of the DPRK was a brilliant victory of President Kim Il Sung's Juche-oriented idea and line of nation-building and a historic event which brought about a fundamental turn in carving out the destinies of the country and the people and carrying out the revolutionary cause of Juche.

He went on:

The founding of the DPRK enabled the Korean people to become powerful and dignified masters of the state sovereignty who carve out their destiny independently with a firm grip on it for the first time in history and made it possible for the DPRK to emerge a full-fledged independent and sovereign state on the international arena to powerfully demonstrate the honor and might of Juche Korea.

The President wisely led the drive to develop the DPRK into a genuine country centered on the popular masses and an independent socialist state which fully embodied the Juche idea.

Today the DPRK has greeted the golden age of its development, demonstrating the invincible might under General Secretary Kim Jong Il's energetic leadership of patriotic devotion.

Kim Jong Il has developed the DPRK into a state of the President both in name and reality and increased the national capacity in every way upholding the banner of Songun to reliably defend Korean-style socialism.

By embodying the noble patriotic idea of Kim Jong Il and the independent foreign policy of the Workers' Party of Korea, the DPRK ushered in an epochal phase in achieving the independent reunification under the banner of the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration, further raised its international prestige and status and remarkably strengthened the international solidarity with the Korean revolution.

The reporter called upon all the people to hold Kim Il Sung in high esteem as the eternal President of the DPRK for all ages and carry out the revolution and construction as intended by the President and the way he did under any circumstances, thus adding shine to the DPRK forever as a glorious state of the President.

Steadfast is the stand of the DPRK to improve the inter-Korean relations on the basis of the historic June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration and pave the way for the national reunification, he said, and went on:

If the enemy ignites a war of aggression despite the repeated warnings of the army and people of the DPRK and the protest of the international community, they will tap all the military potentials including the self-defensive nuclear deterrent which they have built under the banner of Songun to blow up the stronghold of the aggressors and build a reunified thriving nation on this land.

The DPRK government will boost the good-neighborly and friendly relations with other countries and vigorously struggle for the global independence under the uplifted banner of independence, peace and friendship.
