Seen before the bust was a wreath sent by General Secretary Kim Jong Il.

Present at the wreath-laying ceremony were Ri Yong Ho, Yang Hyong Sop, officials of the party and armed forces organs, ministries and national institutions, servicepersons of the KPA, bereaved families and officials and working people in the city.

Placed were wreaths in the name of the C.C., the WPK, the Ministry of the People's Armed Forces, the Ministry of Railways, the Sericulture and Silk Fabrics Guidance Bureau, party and power bodies in Pyongyang and others.

The participants paid silent tribute to Kang Kon who performed special feats in the history of building the army of Juche.
