Attending the meetings were delegates elected at provincial, city and county party committees and party organizations of units at different levels.

The meetings discussed the issue on the election of delegates to the WPK conference.

Speeches proposing the election of General Secretary Kim Jong Il as delegate to the party conference were made by Kim Chun Sop, secretary of Jagang Provincial Committee of the WPK who is delegate of the party organization of the Jagang Provincial Committee of the WPK at the Jagang Provincial meeting and by Kim Hi Thaek, chief secretary of the Ryanggang Provincial Committee of the WPK who is delegate of the party organization of the Ryanggang Provincial People's Committee at the Ryanggang Provincial meeting.

They said that Kim Jong Il is the supreme representative of the WPK, a symbol of the dignity and glory of the country and the nation and an invincible banner of the army and people of the DPRK, stressing that he has led the party and revolution to victory for a long period, performing feats to shine long in the history of Kim Il Sung's nation.

Under his leadership revolutionary battle sites and historic sites were successfully spruced up to make a great contribution to the education in the revolutionary traditions, a great many minor power stations and light industrial establishments sprang up in different parts of the country to help improve the standard of people's living.

They courteously proposed electing Kim Jong Il as delegate to the WPK conference, reflecting the unanimous desire of all party members and other people of the province.

The speakers fully supported and approved the proposal.
