Rose Beds Come Out in Pyongyang
Pyongyang, September 3 (KCNA) -- Rose beds have presented themselves along streets of Pyongyang, adding to the beauty of the city.

Rambler and other species of roses have been adapted to the climatic and soil conditions of the country by the Pyongyang Floricultural Research Center.

Ku Kyong Sun, a section chief of the Horticultural Department of the Pyongyang City People's Committee, told KCNA that thousands of roses had taken root in round flowerbeds of rotaries and in Kwangbok, Thongil and other streets of the city.

The department formed rose workteams in district horticultural stations and fully settled problems arising in the propagation of roses and their manuring and cultivation.

It also sponsored a workshop to help horticulturists and other people learn of the roses' biological character and tend them on a scientific and technological basis.

It has paid priority to supplying their saplings to horticultural stations in time, while dispatching experts to them to give technical assistance.

With the appearance of rose beds, Pyongyang streets have become more beautiful.
