Anniversary of Socialist Republic of Vietnam Observed
Pyongyang, August 31 (KCNA) -- A film show took place at the People's Palace of Culture on Tuesday to mark the 65th founding anniversary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

Present there on invitation were Le Van Cu, Vietnamese ambassador to the DPRK, and staff members of his embassy.

On hand were Jon Yong Jin, vice-chairman of the Korean Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries who doubles as chairman of the DPRK-Vietnam Friendship Association, officials concerned and working people in the city.

The participants watched a Korean documentary film "The Great Leader Comrade Kim Jong Il Meets General Secretary Nong Duc Manh of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam." Nong Duc Manh visited the DPRK from October 16 to 18, Juche 96 (2007). The film has historic scenes telling that Kim Jong Il made an immortal contribution to the development of the friendly relations between the DPRK and Vietnam through his energetic external activities.

Then a friendly meeting was held at the Taedonggang Diplomatic Corps Club.

The participants talked to one another about the need to boost the bilateral relations and had sports and amusement games.
