Anniversary of Diplomatic Ties between DPRK-Cuba Marked in Cuba
Pyongyang, August 29 (KCNA) -- A Korean book, photo, fine art and handicraft exhibition opened in Cuba on Wednesday on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the DPRK and Cuba.

Displayed in its venue were photos of President Kim Il Sung meeting Fidel Castro Ruz and high ranking officials and delegations of the party and government of Cuba, photos of General Secretary Kim Jong Il meeting Fidel Castro Ruz and other photos on the undying Songun leadership exploits of Kim Jong Il.

Also put on display were works of the President and Kim Jong Il, books and photos introducing Songun Korea and fine art pieces and handicrafts associated with wisdom and talent of the Korean people.

Attending the opening ceremony of the exhibition were the vice minister of Trade and Foreign Investment, the vice-president of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples, the director of the department for Asian and Oceanic Affairs of the Foreign Ministry of Cuba, the deputy director of the Political Bureau of the Ministry of Revolutionary Armed Forces of Cuba, the first vice-chairman of the Cuban Committee for Supporting Korea's Reunification and other officials concerned, the DPRK ambassador to Cuba and staff members of his embassy.

Diplomatic envoys of various countries in Cuba were present there on invitation.

The exhibition will go on until September 15.

A performance was given by Cuban artistes in Havana on August 20 on the same occasion.
