S. Korean Authorities Accused of Suppressing Han Sang Ryol
Pyongyang, August 27 (KCNA) -- The Solidarity for Progress, the Association for June 15, Peace and Protection of Rev. Han Sang Ryol and the Christian Committee for Measures over Rev. Han Sang Ryol's Visit to the North for Implementing June 15 Declaration of south Korea held a press conference on August 23 at which they protested against the puppet authorities' unreasonable suppression of Rev. Han.

At the press conference, the organizations accused the authorities of suppressing him on charges of violation of the "National Security Law".

They held: Han visited the DPRK with religious faith, unable to remain an onlooker to the fact that the Lee Myung Bak regime blocked a joint national event to mark the 10th anniversary of the June 15 joint declaration and brought the inter-Korean relations to the brink of a war by groundlessly asserting that the warship was sunk by the "action of the north." It is unreasonable to bring the charges of special infiltration and escape against him.

Recalling that the authorities branded what Rev. Han said over the case of warship sinking as "an enemy-benefiting statement," the organizations declared this was intolerable as it was military dictatorial crackdown.

The Solidarity for Progress issued a statement in demand of the release of Han on the same day.
