Japanese Imperialists Condemned for Blowing Up Ship
Pyongyang, August 24 (KCNA) -- The explosion of ship "Ukishima-maru" was not a simple sinking incident but a premeditated and deliberate massacre of Koreans committed by the Japanese imperialists.

Rodong Sinmun Tuesday observes this in a signed article.

It goes on:

On Aug. 24, 1945 the Japanese imperialists committed such horrible massacre as blowing up "Ukishima-maru", a transport ship of the Japanese navy, while carrying a great many Koreans on their return home with joy at liberation.

In this incident thousands of Koreans met tragic deaths in the rough sea before reaching their hometowns though they had desired to be buried there when they were dead.

The Japanese authorities made public after the incident that it was an "inevitable accident" caused due to a mine laid by U.S forces. But the whole course of the incident and testimonies made by survivors clearly proved that this was a sheer lie. The article cites instances to prove the fact.

The aim sought by the Japanese imperialists in blowing up the ship was to kill all the witnesses to the crimes committed against humanity in a bid to shirk the responsibility for them and permanently keep the construction of military objects in secrecy, the article notes, and continues:

This was despicable hideous crime against humanity which could be committed only by the bestial Japanese imperialists steeped in the temperament for aggression and murder to the marrow of their bones.

65 years have passed since the incident occurred.

But Japan has shied away from making apology and reparation for the incident and probing the truth behind it, evading its responsibility for the crime.

With no rhetoric can Japan conceal or falsify the historical fact.
