Japanese Imperialists Accused of Occupying Korea
Pyongyang, August 22 (KCNA) -- The Japanese imperialists were the most ferocious aggressors who illegally occupied Korea after fabricating an international treaty in utter disregard of international law and norms and principles of international relations in a bid to establish brazen-faced colonial rule over it.

Rodong Sinmun Sunday observes this in a signed article.

It cites facts to prove that the "Korea-Japan Annexation Treaty", which the Japanese imperialists cooked up by use of military force against the representative of the state after encircling the royal palace with aggressor armed forces in a bid to annex Korea, was an illegal and false document as it totally ignored the elementary requirements of international law on the conclusion of a treaty.

Referring to evidence proving that the treaty was a fraudulent document which had no signature of the Emperor, the supreme ruler of the feudal state of the Ri Dynasty, the article says:

In recent years the Japanese reactionaries have taken much pain to give the sham treaty legality, asserting that "it was chosen by the Koreans" and "the treaty went through all formalities" and the like. This is an intolerable insult to the Korean people who had been subject to the bitter colonial slavery enforced by the Japanese imperialists for dozens of years and a mockery of international law and human conscience.

The treaty was nothing but an illegal, unjust and false document, a blank sheet of paper, as it was cooked up by the Japanese imperialists' high-handed practices and fraud and swindle and by such pro-Japanese lackeys as Ri Wan Yong who yielded to them.

For fear of the protest and condemnation from the Korean people and the world after the fabrication of the above-said treaty, the Japanese imperialists had kept it secret and made it public only a week later.

The Korean people will not forget the crimes committed by the Japanese imperialists against them no matter how much water may flow under the bridge but certainly settle accounts with Japan, the sworn enemy, concludes the article.
