Guidelines for Reunification Provided by Kim Il Sung
Pyongyang, August 20 (KCNA) -- In August Juche 79 (1990), President Kim Il Sung delivered an address to the participants in the Pan-National Rally. In the historic speech, titled "Let the Entire Nation Unite and Hasten the Reunification of the Country," he criticized the United States, Japan and separatists within the nation for obstructing Korean reunification.

He referred to such issues concerning national reunification as adhering to the three principles -- independence, peaceful reunification and great national unity --founding the Democratic Federal Republic of Koryo and forming a united front involving the entire nation.

His call for frustrating moves of the separatists within and without the nation and promoting the country's reunification with concerted efforts of the nation was also reflected in the June 15 north-south joint declaration and the October 4 declaration inspiring the Korean people to the struggle for the reunification.

The United States and its followers have stepped up new war preparations, rendering the situation on the Korean peninsula and in its vicinity all the more acute. The fact clearly shows who are obstructing Korean reunification.

The south Korean people's struggle against the anti-reunification elements and for national unity strikingly demonstrates the validity of the President's policy of achieving the unity of the Korean nation based on the three principles of the reunification.

The Korean army and people will surely wipe out all the anti-reunification forces and build a reunified thriving nation on this land without fail just as he wished.
