Moves to Revise Law on Teachers Union Protested in S. Korea
Pyongyang, August 20 (KCNA) -- The Teachers Union of south Korea held an extraordinary meeting of its deputies on August 14 at which it protested against the unjust moves of the puppet Ministry of Employment and Labor to revise the law on the teachers union.

Speakers at the meeting noted that the ministry pressurized the Teachers Union to revise its statute last April, charging that it is in violation of the present law on teachers union, and recently took some measures to deprive the discharged teachers of their union membership under that pretext.

The recent step taken by the ministry was prompted by its foolish calculation that no unionist would be willing to participate in the struggle for genuine education in case teachers are dismissed and deprived of their union membership for protesting against the "government's" unjust educational policy, they stated.

The Teachers Union will counter the ministry's moves with an all-out boycott movement, they declared.

In case the "government" escalates the crackdown upon the union after designating it as an "illegal organization", they will take more positive emergency measures, they warned.
