Korea's Liberation Day Observed
Pyongyang, August 20 (KCNA) -- Pakistani and Ecuadorian organizations issued bulletins on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of Korea's liberation.

The Pakistan Committee for Supporting Korea's Reunification in the bulletin titled "Modern Korea and Songun" published on August 10 referred to the circumstances of the foundation of the Korean People's Army and its invincible might.

The bulletin noted that President Kim Il Sung took over two pistols as a revolutionary legacy from his father Kim Hyong Jik, formed the Down-with-Imperialism Union and unfolded the armed struggle against the Japanese imperialists.

Under the leadership of the President the revolutionaries of Korea waged the strenuous anti-Japanese armed struggle and finally defeated Japanese imperialism and liberated the country on August 15, 1945, the bulletin noted, adding:

His idea on army-building and leadership mode have been successfully carried forward and steadily developed in depth by General Secretary Kim Jong Il. The Songun idea and the Songun politics would have been unthinkable without Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il and the past and the present of socialist Korea without Songun.

The Guaranda Association for Friendship, Culture and Solidarity with the Korean People of Ecuador in the bulletin titled "Day of Korea's Liberation" on August 12 noted that the DPRK turned into a socialist power, independent in politics, self-supporting in the economy and self-reliant in national defence, under the wise guidance of the President.

A precondition for terminating the division of the Korean nation is to remove the political, economic and military obstacles lying in the way of the reunification by putting an end to the U.S. interference and getting the U.S. troops and all its military hardware including nuclear weapons withdrawn from south Korea, the bulletin said, voicing invariable support and solidarity for the independent and peaceful reunification of Korea.
