Fine Art Exhibition Opens
Pyongyang, August 19 (KCNA) -- An exhibition of fine art works on the theme of the anti-Japanese struggle was opened at the Pyongyang International Cultural Center on Thursday.

Displayed there are at least 60 fine art works, including those produced in the period of the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle and those created by artists in Pyongyang and local areas.

Korean paintings "Return Blood for Blood and Oppose Arms with Arms" and "Arirang on Jiansanfeng" impressively depict the undying feats of President Kim Il Sung who achieved the historic cause of national liberation and the shining feats of Kim Jong Suk, woman commander of Mt. Paektu who left giant traces in the history of the anti-Japanese struggle.

Oil painting "You Should Conduct Combat Training under the Simulated Condition of Real Battle" deals with the commanding trait of General Secretary Kim Jong Il who has strengthened the Korean People's Army into the invincible revolutionary armed forces.

Korean paintings "Appeal to Koreans", "Let Us Smash Japanese Imperialists by Concerted Efforts of the Korean Nation" and "Long Live the Victory in Anti-Japanese War!" and other fine art works produced during the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle show the Korean people who waged the valiant all-people resistance against Japanese imperialism.

Among the works on display are Korean painting "Grievance on the Shore of Lake Pujon", oil painting "Echo in Ulsa Year (1905)", woodcut "Sea of Blood in Northern Jiandao" and poster "Brigandish Japanese Imperialists Who Forced Koreans to Change Their Names to Japanese Ones!", which expose the hair-raising atrocities committed by the Japanese imperialists.

Posters "Soldiers of the General Are Always Ready!" and "Just Give Us Your Order!" and other works well represent the immutable faith and will of all the servicepersons and people of the DPRK to defend the socialist homeland of Juche as firm as a rock true to the Songun leadership of Kim Jong Il and make the enemy pay for the blood shed by the Korean people in the past a thousand fold.

Officials concerned, artists and working people in the city went round the fine art works on display.
