Independence Tower Erected in Congo by Help of DPRK
Pyongyang, August 19 (KCNA) -- An independence tower was erected in Congo on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of its independence with the assistance of the DPRK.

Its unveiling ceremony took place in Brazzaville on Aug. 11.

Attending the ceremony were the president of Congo, the presidents of the Upper and Lower Chambers of Congo, the governor of Brazzaville Province, personages of political and public circles and popular masses.

Present on invitation were the DPRK ambassador to Congo and technicians of the DPRK.

Speeches were made at the ceremony.

The minister of Culture and Art of Congo and the mayor of Brazzaville referred to the purport and the significance of the ceremony and expressed thanks to the technicians of the DPRK who erected the tower excellent in formative artistry.

The president of Congo repeatedly expressed thanks to the DPRK ambassador and technicians, going round the tower.
