More Factories Undergo Technical Updating
Pyongyang, August 18 (KCNA) -- More and more industrial establishments have been updated on a CNC (computer numerical control) basis in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

The Hwanghae Iron and Steel Complex has succeeded in applying the CNC technology to the electrode control system of a large-sized UHP electric arc furnace in the steel workshop, a great progress in putting the country's metallurgical industry on a Juche-oriented and modern basis.

It has made a general control program and solved some technological problems to economize electrodes and electricity and increase steel production.

The Sungri Motor Complex has equipped the large accessories processing workshop and other production processes with tens of CNC lathes.The Ryangchaek Bearing Factory has remodeled existing equipment to suit CNC technology.

The Pyongyang Sock Factory has completed a unified control system and the Kilju Pulp Mill, Samjiyon Soy and Bean Paste Factory, Taehongdan Potato Processing Factory and other light industry factories throughout the country have made headway in putting their production processes on a CNC basis with the help of scientists and technicians from the State Academy of Sciences and other scientific institutions.
