Punishment of Group of Traitors Urged in S. Korea
Pyongyang, August 18 (KCNA) -- At least 1,000 representatives of student organizations from across south Korea including the Federation of University Students in the 21st Century, the Youth and Students Solidarity for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration, the Students Representatives Council for Democracy, Independence and Reunification and the Students Committee of the Democratic Labor Party held a "cultural event of students for probing the truth behind the 'Cheonan' case and ensuring peace on the Korean Peninsula" in Seoul on August 14.

Speakers recalled that all student organizations formed groups of the grand march for reunification and have staged separate actions for peace against war since July 31, stressing the need for students to carry forward the struggle to put an end to outsiders' interference and achieve independent reunification.

The south-north relations were brought to a collapse after the emergence of the Lee Myung Bak regime and the situation on the Korean Peninsula is so tense that a war may break out any moment, they deplored.

The implementation of the June 15 joint declaration, a landmark of peaceful reunification, paves the way for settling the grave situation, they held, calling on the students to stage united actions.

They declared that they would wage an unflinching struggle to punish the Lee regime and thus bring peace to the peninsula.
