Involved in the exercises led by the south Korea-U.S. Combined Forces Command are more than 30 000 U.S. troops stationed in south Korea and abroad and 56,000 south Korean puppet troops including commands of above level of corps, fleet and air division along with a lot of up-to-date war equipment.

The commander of the U.S. forces in south Korea announced that the ongoing joint military rehearsal is one of the largest-scale joint staff directed theatre exercises in the world.

Meanwhile, the Ulji exercises, a rehearsal under battle conditions for wartime preparations, were launched on the same day with 400,000 persons, including officials of the puppet administration organs and members of non-governmental businesses, involved.
