Joint Concert of Korean and Russian Artistes Given
Pyongyang, August 15 (KCNA) -- A joint concert of the Samjiyon Band of the Mansudae Art Troupe and a group of famous Russian artistes was given at the East Pyongyang Grand Theatre Sunday on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of Korea's liberation.

Appreciating the concert were senior army and state officials, officials of armed forces organ, ministries and national institutions, creators in the fields of culture and arts, artistes, teachers and students.

Among the audience were members of the delegation of the Russian Federation now on a visit to the DPRK on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of Korea's liberation, the Russian ambassador to the DPRK and staff members his embassy.

Put on the stage were Korean songs including chorus "Song of General Kim Il Sung," an immortal revolutionary paean, mixed duet "Sing, Fork to Mangyongdae" and female chorus "Girl on a Galloping Steed". Performers presented Russian songs and world music including tenor solo "Looking up to Sky" and soprano solo "Million Roses."

Famous conductors, instrumentalists and vocalists of the two countries highly praised the undying exploits President Kim Il Sung performed by accomplishing the historic cause of Korea's liberation and opening up a new history of prosperity on this land and immortal exploits General Secretary
Kim Jong Il has performed by glorifying the dignity of the country and the nation with his unique idea and leadership.

Also staged were the numbers representing the Russian people's feelings and emotion with merry and emotional melodies.

The concert was acclaimed by the audience for its rich ideological contents and high artistry.
