Present there were personages of political parties and organizations including the Communist Party of Canada (Marxist-Leninist), the Canadian Regional Committee of the Overseas Side Committee for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration and other people.

A spokesman for the above-said party in his speech noted that the U.S., which ignited the Korean War of aggression on June 25, 1950, is still trying hard to cover up its true colors as provoker of the war. This is aimed at justifying new invasion and war to be launched by it against the DPRK, he said.

He denounced the U.S. for getting frantic in its smear campaign against the DPRK while deliberately linking the DPRK to the case of sunken warship "Cheonan", its own fabrication. He called upon the Canadians to heighten vigilance against the deceptive propaganda of the imperialists to justify aggression and war.

The chairman of the Canadian Regional Committee of the Overseas Side Committee for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration in his speech cited detailed facts to prove the absurdity of the assertion of the south Korean puppet forces that the "Cheonan" was sunken by the DPRK.

A decision adopted at the meeting urged the U.S. to respond to the DPRK's proposal for concluding a peace treaty, put an end to the Korean War, stop all kinds of military exercises on the Korean Peninsula and immediately withdraw armed forces for aggression from south Korea.

It stressed the need for the Canadian government to make contributions to peace and stability of the Korean Peninsula and make efforts for development of the relations with the DPRK.
