Simultaneous Masses Held
Pyongyang, August 15 (KCNA) -- August 15 masses of Buddhists in the north and the south were simultaneously held at temples across the northern half of Korea on Sunday on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of national liberation.

Present there were office-bearers of the Central Committee of the Buddhist Federation of Korea and its provincial, city and county committees, resident priests, monks and believers at temples.

Buddhist rituals were held at the masses. Then followed speeches and a joint address of Buddhists in the north and the south praying for national reunification.

Speeches and address said that the simultaneous masses at all temples in the north and the south on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of national liberation are significant events reflecting the desire and will of all the fellow countrymen at home and abroad for reunification. They called upon all the Buddhists in the north and the south to more dynamically turn out in the present drive to resolutely shatter the reckless anti-DPRK nuclear war moves of the U.S. imperialists and the south Korean puppet forces, improve the inter-Korean relations and defend and implement the north-south declarations in Dharma-minded concord under the banner of "By our nation itself".
