New Species of Vegetables Cultivated
Pyongyang, August 6 (KCNA) -- New species of vegetables bred by the Central Vegetable Research Institute of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea have been cultivated in some co-op farms in the country.

The institute has introduced high-yielding spring and summer cabbages suitable to the climatic and soil conditions of the country, and some species of greenhouse hot pepper in vegetable farms.

It has also disseminated the methods and technique of their cultivation to farms, paying deep concern to planting summer cabbage seeds as second crop, cultivating cabbage seedlings and preventing damage from harmful insects.

Summer cabbage, resistant to hot and humid weather and change of climate, yields a rich harvest with a small quantity of fertilizers.

Yellow hot pepper, considered higher than other species in nutritive value, has enjoyed popularity among experts and producers.
